Dr. Carla Arcamonte (Owner) has been the proud owner of Coral Reef Gymnastics for 14 years. Carla studied at FIU in Sports Medicine and is a certified athletic trainer. She is the loving wife of Steve Arcamonte & mother to 5 girls, Nicole, Sabrina, Gabriela, Isabella & Alessandra. Carla is USAG Certified & Safe Sport Certified as well as having received certification in the following: Safety and Risk Management, Region 8 Congress, Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction, Women’s JO Team Coaches National Coaches Course, Brain and Body Basics and Brain Body: Beyond Basics, W300, W400, Boys Competitive Team Course & Tom Fosters Bars Boot camp. He is the loving husband of Carla Arcamonte & father to 5 girls, Nicole, Sabrina, Gabriela, Isabella & Alessandra. He currently works at Related Group as the Project Manager. Steve is USAG Certified & Safe Sport Certified as well as having received certification in the following: Safety and Risk Management & Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction. Sabrina Arcamonte (Class Program & Team Instructor) has been teaching competitive and class gymnastics for 10 years. Sabrina has been a competitive gymnast/athlete for 14 years. Sabrina also has experience in ballet, tennis, management in birthday parties, front office as well as the summer/day camp that Coral Reef Gymnastics has to offer. She brings her experience and expertise to Coral Reef because of her passion to make Coral Reef a safe and fun environment for all. Sabrina is USAG certified and has experience as an Optional NAWGJ judge as well as having received certification in the following: Safety and Risk Management, Region 8 Congress, Fundamentals of Gymnastics Instruction, Women’s JO Team Coaches National Coaches Course, Brain and Body Basics and Brain Body: Beyond Basics, W400 & Tom Fosters Bars Boot camp. Sabrina graduated with her Bachelor’s in Economics with a focus on Accounting at Florida International University & Broward College with an Associate’s in Arts. Sabrina’s hobbies include photography, traveling, painting and music. Sabrina is a daughter to Carla and Steve Arcamonte, and sister to Nicole, Gaby, Isabella and Alessandra Arcamonte. Leesa Van Werven (Team Instructor) has been coaching gymnastics for 33 years. At a very young age, she was responsible for recreational classes and a competitive team right here in South Florida where she was born and raised.  Leesa has been a gymnast for 12 years and competitive for 8 years. Leesa also has experience in Sports Medicine where she received her Bachelors Degree at Barry University. She brings energy to Coral Reef Gymnastics because she not only wants to bring out the best talent in each gymnast in a disciplined way but also in a fun, loving environment. Consider her “Gym Mom!” Leesa’s hobbies include being crafty and creative in all of life’s special occasions. Leesa loves planning special events like birthday parties and holidays as well as making sure everything is just perfectly planned from the invitations to the décor, food, and games. Arno Van Werven (Team Instructor) has been coaching for more than 30 years. In fact, at the age of 4, he already decided to be a gymnastics coach and that dedication never wavered. He started assisting classes when he was 10 and had his own team at the age of 15. Arno went to a sports college where he graduated as a gymnastics coach and as a sports therapist for special needs children. Being from the Netherlands, he had several Dutch National Championships before he moved to the United States in 1994. He was hired by a gymnastics team in Davie and has coached in this area ever since. Over the years Arno has produced many State Champions and is excited to continue this trend at Coral Reef Gymnastics. The family oriented gym is a perfect fit for this family guy who is married to Coach Leesa, with whom he has two daughters, Skyla and Tara. Although gymnastics is his main love, he is also very interested in science, and astronomy in particular. Isabella Conrado is a former competitive gymnast and martial arts athlete, now thriving as a competitive cheer athlete. With a passion for sports and a love for working with kids, Isabella brings her energy, discipline, and expertise to coaching. She enjoys helping young athletes grow in confidence and skill while fostering a fun and positive environment.

Elgin Aponte “Coach E” (Class Program Instructor)
Elgin “Coach E” Aponte is a former All Around gymnast who competed through grade school (6th grade – 12th grade). He spent his summers at Island Gymnastics Camp on Long Island, NY as a kid training, and eventually Jr. Coaching. Shortly after high school he taught gymnastics at the YMCA in New York. He is married with one son and looks forward to passing on his love for gymnastics with him one day. When not in the gym, Elgin is an accomplished Actor, Comedian, and Trivia host. He believes in hard work and dedication, as well as always making time for fun, and the enjoyment of spending time with friends and family!

Vanessa Mesa is a former competitive gymnast with years of experience as a dedicated junior coach. She is USAG certified and has attended numerous skill clinics to continuously expand her expertise. Vanessa is passionate about helping young athletes reach their full potential and has a special love for the Coral Reef Activity Center, where she enjoys fostering a supportive and fun environment for all gymnasts.

Constanza Di Mare (Coach Connie) is a former competitive gymnast and current competitive cheer athlete. With a passion for athletics and a genuine love for working with kids, Ava brings her energy and expertise to coaching. She enjoys helping young athletes grow in confidence, strength, and skill while creating a fun and motivating atmosphere.

Chris Alvarez has been passionate about sports for most of his life and is currently pursuing a degree in education. As a USAG certified coach and the summer camp director at Coral Reef Activity Center for the past two years, Chris brings strong leadership and a love for teaching. His experience and dedication help create an engaging and positive environment for young athletes.

Xavier Norwood was a passionate dancer and cheerleader throughout high school, where he developed a strong foundation in performance and athleticism. His love for coaching and tumbling shines through in his work, as he helps young athletes build their skills and confidence. Xavier is dedicated to creating a supportive and energetic environment for all of his students.

She has a background in dance, dedicating 16 years to the art, including 13 years in competitive settings. She traveled across Florida competing in the highest level competitions, and auditioning for all types of dance related shows. Growing up in gymnastics centers further shaped her skills, paving the way for her pivotal role in coaching. Under the guidance of her parents, Leesa and Arno, who are team coaches themselves, she’s channeled her passion into mentoring others. Since the age of 11, she’s utilized her dance expertise to teach gymnastics floor routines each season. This early start allowed her to blend her passion for dance with gymnastics, developing routines that showcase both artistic expression and athletic skill. Now, she coaches recreational classes, leads the Copper team, and provides support across various team levels.

Brennon Will is a seasoned coach and instructor with over 13 years of experience in gymnastics. His expertise spans across all levels, from beginner to elite athletes, focusing on skill development, technique, and injury prevention. Brennon’s passion for gymnastics is matched by his dedication to helping each athlete reach their full potential. Known for his motivational coaching style and deep understanding of the sport, he has successfully guided numerous gymnasts to achieve personal and competitive milestones. Brennon continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of gymnasts.

Cahra Lampel, a former gymnast, brings her passion for the sport to coaching athletes of all levels. Whether working with beginners or more advanced gymnasts, Cahra enjoys helping each athlete grow and improve at their own pace. Her love for coaching shines through as she fosters a positive and encouraging environment for every gymnast she works with.

Alessandra Arcamonte has been an optional-level gymnast for the past 12 years, honing her skills and dedication to the sport. Her deep experience in gymnastics brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her coaching, where she helps young athletes develop their own love for the sport. Alessandra’s commitment to excellence and growth creates a motivating and supportive environment for all gymnasts.
